Information we collect
We collect contact details, your focused research question, names and approximate dates of ancestors, family relationships, existing research, and source links that you choose to provide. We also retain consent records and limited security information. Please submit only information you have the right to share, and avoid unnecessary sensitive details about living people.
How we use information
We use submitted information to assess scope, fulfill the purchased research service, communicate with you, deliver findings, maintain transaction records, and protect the service from abuse. We do not sell personal genealogy information.
Payments
Stripe handles payment card information on its secure checkout. We store payment status and transaction identifiers, not card numbers or card security codes. Stripe processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Research services and AI assistance
Third-party archives, record providers, and research tools may be used to investigate your question. AI tools may assist with organization, comparison, translation, and analysis. We aim to share only the information necessary for the task and review important conclusions against underlying evidence. Contact us if you would like information about the research providers used for your project.
Security
We use access controls, secure cookies, encrypted transport in production, validation, and restricted administrative access. No system can promise absolute security. Never send us a genealogy website password. Shared-document links should be limited to appropriate recipients.
Retention and deletion
Project records are retained while research is active and for up to 24 months after completion, unless a longer period is required for accounting or legal obligations. Contact hello@mylineageresearch.com to request access, correction, or deletion. Some transaction records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations. Backups may expire on a separate operational schedule.
Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies support secure administration and paid intake. When advertising measurement is enabled, you can allow or decline it using Advertising privacy choices. With your permission, Google Ads uses click identifiers and cookies to connect visits with purchases. We retain limited campaign identifiers for up to 30 days in your browser and associate permitted attribution with a random order ID in our project ledger. Advertising events contain only the event type and, for a confirmed purchase, a random transaction ID, service amount, and currency. We do not send names, emails, family research, or intake links to advertising tags, enable enhanced conversions, or create genealogy-based remarketing audiences. Declining measurement does not prevent you from ordering. You can withdraw browser permission through Advertising privacy choices; contact us to request deletion of retained attribution, subject to applicable accounting requirements.
Service providers and international processing
We use Hostinger for website hosting and email and Stripe for payments. These providers, along with research providers used for your project, may process information in countries other than your country of residence. Contact us for information about providers handling your project.
